The Z Man Ongoing

For 22 summers Mark “Z” Zides has been our Operations Director, taking care of many behind the scenes logistics and arrangements; from staff recruiting, food service, laundry operations, baggage and transportation needs, athletic scheduling and everything else in-between. Coupled with his close to 50 years in the camping industry and his commitment to the camp industry by active participation on committees, lobbying support, legislation and over all pro-active research in many areas, the Z-Man, revered and legendary in the camping world, is like no other. Without Z, Camp Towanda would not have been able to develop into the leader in the camping industry we are often recognized as.

Although trying to retire, Z will continue to be a part of Towanda in the off-season and on and off during more summers to come; just, as he says, taking it a little slower and “Mitch, I will be “ongoing” away”!!  And oh so well deserved. To quote Mitch each time he would introduce Z, “We have no problems, We have The Z-Man”! Yea, Man!
